About Us

At Curative Hypnotherapy we have several highly qualified therapists including the founders of the Clinic, David and Deborah, who treat the full range of conditions:

David Grinnell
MSc (Leeds) DHyp CP.NLP MBHA

Clinic Director
Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist (NHS Directory)

David is a leading figure in the field of hypnotherapy, he has used his scientific knowledge and understanding to develop the theory and practice of hypnotherapy and now, when not writing or training, he runs the busy West Midlands Clinic.

In the 1990s David became seriously ill and for two years his life was put on hold whilst he searched for a conventional or alternative solution to his condition. Eventually he was treated with curative hypnotherapy and within a few months made a full recovery.

David needed to go through quite thorough hypnotherapy from a number of therapists to make the necessary changes to recover; this time in therapy has given him a unique understanding of how the mind affects the body. This understanding has allowed him to be able to treat patients with emotional and physiological problems that have been resistant to change over many years of different treatments.

Over time David has used his skills to self treat a large number of problems of his own: stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and addiction, in addition to insomnia, phobias, weight gain and finally ME/CFS. His personal experience of these problems allows him to empathise with his patients and understand the most appropriate treatment for their condition.

David is a very highly qualified and experienced hypnotherapist. His initial training was with a General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) affiliated training school and he is now listed on the respected NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners (NHSDCAP) as an NHS Trusts’ Association Complementary Practitioner (NHSTA).

In the intervening years since his initial training David has gone on to complete higher level, curative hypnotherapy, training at Birmingham’s Therapy Training College, as well as partaking in many advanced courses on, for example, NLP and EMDR.
